SNOWmageddon Rages On. But Deadlines Don’t Move.

Snow-mageddon has descended on the Washington DC area today.  You can’t turn on the TV, radio, Twitter, Facebook, etc. without hearing how bad it is and how everything is shut down.

And as snow is falling outside, I sit here in my home office with a cup of hot chocolate, a dog laying across my feet and laptop churning away.  The reality is that we have clients in areas that don’t care about snow.  Deadlines don’t move.  And work continues.

So if you’re an association in the same situation – clients in other states, impending conferences, publication deadlines, memberships to process – do you just put up the “closed for snow” sign and go home?

Think about it, your staff has gone home and is checking out Facebook and emailing their friends but can’t access your association management software and keep being productive?? With a web-based association management software package your organization could keep on going like it’s business as usual.

Sure, your membership manager is stuck at home but he could be running membership reports and processing dues.  Your event manager is snowed in but she could be updating the event registration reports or speaker sessions.

All you need to do is make sure that they have a computer and an internet connection.  (We already agreed they are updating Facebook so we can cross this one off.)

With no software to install and just a web browser required to access the membership software, your staff – and your association’s business – can keep right on going.

The snow falls, but business doesn’t stop.
