A colleague and I had the pleasure of interviewing Rob Bertazon today. Rob is the executive director of the American Subcontractors Association of Baltimore, and we were so moved by what we heard from this customer evangelist (reports have it he does demos for us on his own) that we just had to write about it immediately.

When Rob joined ASA-Baltimore in 2003, he inherited a conglomeration of Access databases and Excel spreadsheets (note the use of the plural) and quickly identified the need for a single, comprehensive association management software system.

Now, three years after making the switch to netFORUM Team, Rob says the benefits of an integrated system have dramatically altered the way ASA-Baltimore does business. ”We handle all of our information at one time now. When I change an address or update an e-mail contact, I don’t have to go change it in multiple places–it’s done once throughout the entire system,” he says. ”That saves me a day a week of manual processes, and I don’t have to worry about the errors of multiple entry.”

That time savings means Rob can not only focus on satisfying member needs and recruiting new members, but he’s now able to direct a second organization–the Electric League of Maryland–with only two supporting staff between both organizations. He says his decision to direct ELA was entirely dependent on the board’s approval of netFORUM Team, enabling him to manage two associations just as efficiently as if he were managing one.

We’re not sure which has more superhero powers–netFORUM Team or Rob–but we know the two make a winning combination. Thanks, Rob, for sharing your story.
