Many of our friends in the nonprofit and association community have asked us to share this information, and we’re happy to help our audience!

Many of you are probably familiar with the .ORG extension given to organizations that are used exclusively for nonprofits, but are you aware of the .NGO extension?

The Public Interest Registry (PIR) is the non-profit organization managing “.ORG” – the domain that has served the non-profit community for more than 25 years. They are recommending that .NGO also be added to the registry of generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs).

.NGO will be the exclusive domain for local and global non-governmental organizations looking to advance their missions or to inspire their communities.

If you’re interested, please feel free to take action and sign this letter of online support to ensure that PIR manages the .NGO domain and that .NGO is maintained in the best interest of nonprofits worldwide.
