Big Data Analytics for Social Media – Enterprise 2.0 Conference Boston
Remember how you felt when you were a kid in a candy store? So many mouth-watering choices coupled with agonizing indecision. Well, this is how I feel waiting for the Enterprise 2.0 Conference in Boston. Between the topic and the panel you can’t keep me away from this one! (Big Data Analytics for Social Media – Thursday 9:45-10:45 a.m.) moderated by David Carr.
Clearly, the need to address Big Data analytics for social media is becoming more mainstream in data management for Enterprises. Zach Hofer-Shall’s comment simply adds to the exciting energy building up around this event, “There’s certainly no single player doing it all today. Big data’s only getting bigger – and more companies will want part of that business soon.”
Reinforcing this thought is a note I came across by David Gutelius, Chief Social Scientist, Jive Software on www.cdnet.com; “The real emerging promise of Big Data and social analytics is creating a fundamentally new kind of technology that learns to adapt itself to you in order to surround you with the resources you need to be effective in a work context. … Any way you look at it, Big Data techniques in social media will create entirely new opportunities to create meaningful relationships that can add value for enterprises.”
Jacob Morgan reported that, “Both the chief scientists from Jive and Lithium will be present which in and of itself is enough reason to want to go see this session then you throw in a Forrester analyst, (Zach Hofer-Shall) and David Carr (editor The Brain Yard) and you really have a great session.”
I agree with Jacob. In fact, I anticipate this session to be a highlight of the Conference. I just hope to have the privilege of meeting David Carr, editor of The Brain Yard. You might want to take a quick look at his article on, “Getting Smarter about Big Data Analytics” where he writes, “People and businesses need to get smarter about understanding the power of Big Data computer analytics. On the other hand, perhaps computers and the people who run them need to show their appreciation of human smarts as well.” Great insight!
Kudos to the conference planners for doing such a fantastic job at putting together such diverse topics and outstanding panelists and speakers. Truly a smorgasbord for everyone.
Boston, here we come.
